Light is a part of our universe, necessary for life and the understanding of the cosmos. From the sun rising to the flicker of a candle, it forms our experiences and perceptions.

What is Light?

That is, light is electromagnetic radiation to which the human eye is sensitive. It falls between approximately 400 and 700 nanometers. Reality, though, is that the electromagnetic spectrum extends far beyond what a naked human eye can view, with ultraviolet and infrared light that plays wonderful roles in the real world.

The Nature of Light

Light is at the same time wave and particle. The latter word, wave-particle duality describes duality behavior. In wave-like fashion, light travels through the means of waves, which causes interference and diffraction. It has been seen in a particle fashion while traveling as photons. This kind of duality of property gives much basis of modern physics and provides the basis for most integral application of devices like lasers and quantum computers.
Light Importance in Nature

1. Photosynthesis: To the plants, light plays a very important role because through it, plants are in a position to convert the solar energy into chemical energy through photosynthesis. That thus sustains the plant, while giving oxygen and food for other…
