How Does Panadol Work?

To date, the exact mechanism by which paracetamol acts is not known; however it is postulated that paracetamol interferes with the functioning of some of the enzymes in the brain during the synthesis of prostaglandins - the chemicals involved in pain and inflammation. That is why Panadol relieves the pains and fevers. The metabolism of paracetamol is usually done by the liver and has a very low potential for irritating the lining of any part of the stomach, thus making it much more tolerable by the stomach than NSAIDs are.
